From Dream to Driveway

The Tiny Home Delivery Experience

It’s one of the most exciting moments in the tiny home journey — the day the home arrives and takes its place on the property. After months of planning and dreaming, the driveway becomes the stage for the home’s big debut.

At Mint Tiny House Company, delivery day is more than a logistical step. It’s a milestone that blends anticipation, pride, and the satisfaction of seeing a vision become reality. While there’s plenty happening behind the scenes, it’s also a moment to pause and celebrate.

The Question: What Will It Take to Go Smoothly?

It’s common for customers to wonder how the process will unfold. Will the access road work? Is the site truly ready? What happens if the weather shifts?

Mint has delivered to city lots, rural acreages, island properties, and remote hideaways — From Kodiak, Alaska to Kailua, Hawaii. From the islands of Haida Gwaii to the redwood forests of California. From Orcas Island in Washington to the backroads of Florida and the wide-open spaces of Texas — wherever people dream of tiny living, we deliver Mint Tiny Houses.

Each site has its quirks, from tight urban turns to winding mountain approaches, and experience shows that preparation is the key to a smooth arrival.

The Plan: Three Stages to Success

  1. Preparation before delivery

Before a home leaves Mint’s yard, customers prepare their site. This means creating a solid, level foundation — such as a concrete slab, compacted gravel pad, helical piles, or pavers over gravel — and ensuring the access route is clear with enough space for both the home and the delivery truck.

Mint provides a detailed checklist to help identify potential challenges. Customers share photos, measurements, and site details so the delivery team knows exactly what to expect before arrival.

  1. Delivery day

On delivery day, skilled drivers transport the home to the property and maneuver it into position wherever conditions allow. Sometimes the path is straightforward; other times, extra equipment is needed for tight spaces.

Once in place, the home is leveled from side to side and front to back, supported with the customer’s cribbing, and stabilized with wheel chocks and leveling legs. Communication between the driver and the customer ensures the home is exactly where it’s envisioned.

It’s also the first moment customers see their home in its new setting — a view that often comes with a quiet pause and a smile.

  1. After delivery

With the home set and stabilized, customers walk around to check that doors, windows, and finishes are in good order. Mint follows up with a call to walk through the home’s systems, answer questions, and offer setup tips.

Reviewing the included user manuals helps new owners get familiar with their home’s features and plan for future maintenance.

Why It’s Going to Be Amazing

Delivery day is when a dream stops being an idea and becomes something a homeowner can step inside. There’s nothing quite like seeing a tiny home in its new setting, knowing all the planning paid off.

It’s the perfect time to sit back, take it all in, and enjoy the space that’s been eagerly anticipated.
